Come join ILCNSCA in celebrating the 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins and gear up for another successful season! We will be serving popcorn, candy, and soda while watching the Bruins Stanley Cup Championship DVD with highlights from the season and playoffs! ILCNSCA suggests a donation of $1.00 per person. Shaping Tomorrow's Workforce — Today
Winter may be in full swing, but on college campuses across the country, thoughts are already turning to the warmer months ahead. And for many ambitious students and soon-to-be graduates, it's not vacation that's on their minds — it's vocation. And for employers, that's good news.
In addition to offering young people an opportunity to gain valuable work experience, internships and other short-term employment arrangements offer employers an easy and effective way to evaluate potential employees, especially young people who are new to the workforce.
Now, assistance is available for employers interested in recruiting highly motivated interns. The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) offers public and private employers of all sizes access to a database of more than 2,200 pre-screened, qualified college students and recent graduates with disabilities seeking summer internships or ongoing employment.
Use of the WRP is free for employers, and program participants represent more than 270 colleges nationwide. They are selected for the program by professional recruiters following an extensive application and interview process. To learn more, visit the Employer Assistance and Resource Network's (EARN) WRP webpage or call 1-855-275-3276 (Voice/TTY).

Access Board Holds Public Hearing on Draft ICT Rule
The U.S. Access Board recently held a public hearing on a revised draft of updated requirements for information and communication technology (ICT) covered by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Telecommunications Act. See the full story.
The Board will hold a second hearing March 1 at the CSUN Conference in San Diego. The hearing will be open to the general public and will not be limited to those registered for the conference.

Evening Lecture Series for individuals living with spinal cord injury, their caregivers, & healthcare professionals presents Mary Mahon McCauley, Area Director, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission discussing Employment After Spinal Cord Injury Wednesday, January 18, 2012, 6:30-8:00 PM Boston Medical Center, Boston University School of Medicine, 72 East Concord St. Hiebert Lounge, 14th Floor, Boston, MA 02118. For more information or to register call 617-638-7314. A light dinner will be served before the lecture. Registration fee: $10.00 per person if received by 1-11-2012 (there is no fee for PCA’s to attend with employers). Registration at the door or after 1-11-2012 will be charged a late fee.
There will also be an NSCIA SCI support group meeting from 4:30pm-6:00pm immediately preceding this lecture, and a family support group will be offered from 4:45pm-6:00pm.
