How About A Little Consideration?

I was walking yesterday and I stopped at Flax Pond for a nutritious lunch of Diet Coke and a cookie (I missed Health class the day they talked about Diet). I went to sit on a bench in front of the pond and there was no opening between the sidewalk and the pond. I realize there is construction going on but wonder how much thought and consideration went into planning for people with mobility issues.

At some point in their lives, everyone will HAVE mobility problems and we all pay taxes and we all vote.

Annoucing...........

I got a call early this afternoon from the mayor's office (not Mayor Kennedy herself, I'm not that important) to ask me if I was still interested in being on Lynn's Disability Commission. Well I had to check my schedule, being an unemployed poet is time consuming.

Well I said yes, so I guess that means I need to pay more attention to this blog.

How To Climb The Stairway To Heaven?

I just have a question. With all the money being spent on the new stairs to High Rock Tower, what accommodations are being made for the mobility impaired? It is a nice view.

But does it seem fair that we will spend, oh I don't know, almost half a million dollars on the stairs for the non-disabled versus a quart of blue paint for those of us with mobility problems. Our group is not limited o a select unfortunate few. AT SOMETIME IN THEIR LIFE ALMOST EVERYONE WILL EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS GETTING AROUND.

How's your view now?
